LG Austin’s ‘130.6m’ big home run against Kiwoom…personal longest ever
Austin Dean (29), a foreign hitter of the LG Twins in professional baseball, hit his personal biggest distance home run since entering the KBO League.
Austin started as the fourth batter and first baseman in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League home game against Kiwoom Heroes at 꽁머니 Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 12th and hit a two-run shot in his third at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Austin, who picked up walks in both at-bats in the bottom of the first inning and the bottom of the fourth inning, took his third batting opportunity in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs and a runner on first base, with his team slightly leading 3-2.
And he hit Kiwoom starter Ian McKinney’s 131.9km change-up at the first pitch and drew a large arch that greatly crossed the left fence. Austin’s 14th homer of the season.
The home run distance was measured at 130.6 meters based on the team’s trackman. This is Austin’s biggest distance home run of his personal season. The previous record was a 126.3m home run against Choi Seung-yong in a game against the Doosan Bears on June 2.
