Lotte’s Na Kyun-ahn on his rehabilitation progress: “I’ll see the first team sooner or later”
Lotte Giants right-hander Na Gyun-ahn (25), who was sidelined with a hamstring injury late last month, is accelerating his comeback.
Lotte manager Larry Sutton 메이저사이트 said before the resignation SSG Landers game on the 15th, “Na Gyun-ahn’s rehabilitation is progressing well according to the planned schedule. He has finished pitching in the bullpen and has also appeared in a Futures (second team) league game, so we will be able to see him in the first team soon.”
Na was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain on March 29. Initially, Lotte expected that his recovery would not be hindered by the 10-day disabled list, but it took longer than expected. However, now that he has had more time to rest, he reportedly no longer has any major problems with his condition. After shaking off the injury, Na made his first bullpen appearance since the injury at Lotte Sangdong Baseball Field in Gimhae, the training center of the Lotte Future Team, on the 12th. On the 15th, he made his first start against the Ulsan KIA Tigers in the Futures League, virtually finalizing the process for his return.
It’s a big deal. Lotte was on a roll early in the season with Na Gyun-ahn. In April, Na went 4-0 with a 1.34 ERA in five games, earning his first career monthly MVP honor. Despite some ups and downs after a brief stint on the disabled list (IL) in June due to elbow pain, Na has been Lotte’s most consistent pitcher this season.
Na’s return is also good news given Lotte’s recent struggles, with foreign pitchers Charlie Barnes and Aaron Wilkerson holding down the fort, but the Korean starters have been relatively lackluster. Lee In-bok, Han Hyun-hee, and even recent ace Park Se-woong have seen their pitching affected by poor defense.
