Unhappy for you too? Chelsea Sunggol Youth confesses how he feels about digesting the wingback, “I wasn’t happy in Chelsea.”
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has opened up about not being able to play in his original position at Chelsea.
“AC Milan’s Loftus-Cheek has claimed he was unhappy with the role he was given at Chelsea,” the British publication The Evening Standard reported on Thursday.
According to the Evening Standard, Loftus-Cheek said, “In the last two years I have played mainly in a defensive position. It was awkward for me. I’ve always liked to have the ball at my feet and be free to create and make decisions. In the last two seasons, I couldn’t do that. That way of playing didn’t make me happy,” he said.
Loftus-Cheek came through the Chelsea youth ranks and made his debut for the Blues in the 2014-15 season. In his first season, he was not given many opportunities. The following season, he made 13 league appearances as the main players were sidelined with injuries. However, he failed to establish himself at Chelsea and went on loan to Crystal Palace. He was a mainstay at Crystal Palace, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 24 games.소닉카지노
After his loan spell, he returned to Chelsea in the 2018-19 season and established himself. Maurizio Sarri has kept Loftus-Cheek in the fold. Along with Eden Hazard, Loftus-Cheek has shown good form in the attack. He had a career-high season with 10 goals and five assists in 40 games, including cup competitions. However, he suffered an Achilles injury in an event match at the end of the season.
The injury cost him a place in the squad and he went out on loan to Fulham. His chance came when Thomas Tuchel took over at Chelsea, but he was used as a wing-back or midfielder rather than as a winger, his primary position. For two seasons, Loftus-Cheek played where the team needed him rather than where he preferred to play.
Eventually, Loftus-Cheek left Chelsea this summer for a new challenge at AC Milan. Loftus-Cheek joins Chelsea teammate Christian Pulisic in the AC Milan colors. Loftus-Cheek earned a starting spot at AC Milan. He has started all three games since the start of the season and already has two assists.
Loftus-Cheek is happy with his time at AC Milan. “I’ve played a lot of different roles throughout my career,” Loftus-Cheek said. Now I’m playing in a more free position and it feels good,” he said. Meanwhile, AC Milan are second in the league after opening the season with three straight wins. They are trailing Inter Milan on goal difference. AC Milan will face Inter Milan on Sunday at 1:00 am.
