Klinsmann, it’s real now…Will there be a “new opportunity” on the November A match list
Klinsmann will announce his November A-Match call-ups in a press release on Saturday afternoon. The squad is set for two matches in the second round of Asian qualifying for the FIFA Confederations Cup North America 2026.
South Korea is drawn in Group C with Singapore, China, and Thailand. The team will face Singapore at 8 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium before traveling to China on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. to take on the Chinese.레모나토토 도메인
It’s actually their first real test. The team has played a total of eight games since Klinsmann was hired in March, but all of them were friendlies. They faced Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, El Salvador, Tunisia, and Vietnam at home, and Wales and Saudi Arabia on a European tour in September.
The record was three wins, three draws, and two losses. Klinsmann was heavily criticized for failing to win five games in a row, but things started to pick up against Saudi Arabia. A 1-0 victory over the Saudis gave them their long-awaited first win, followed by a 4-0 win over Tunisia and a 6-0 win over Vietnam.
Now it’s on to the second round of World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Cup. A lot of attention is also being paid to the roster for the November A matches.
For now, Klinsmann will opt for stability over change. He didn’t pick any new faces for the October A match either. With the exception of right fullback Kim Tae-hwan, who was called up for the first time in half a year in March, the team remained largely the same. Aside from the frustrating performance, it was a sign of confidence in the existing members.
Klinsmann echoed a similar sentiment after the Vietnam game: “There are only a few games left. “It’s important for us to have continuity and consistency in the team,” he said. “Now we have to play the World Cup qualifiers and then go to Qatar for the Asian Cup. It’s important to get used to the system.”
The roster is likely to remain largely unchanged from the October A-Match roster. This time around, there are no major injuries to the main players, so it is expected that the team will once again use its elite members.
With the exception of Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), who could be overloaded, everyone is in good shape, especially captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton Wanderers), who have been racking up attacking points in the Premier League.
Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), Hong Hyun-seok (Gent), and Lee Jae-sung (Mainz) have all found the back of the net recently. Oh Hyun-kyu (Celtic) and Hwang Eui-jo (Norwich) have also found the back of the net this season.
However, small changes are not out of the question. “You have to consider the organization,” Klinsmann said at the A-match press conference in October. But on the other hand, it is also important to give new opportunities to players who have not played much,” he said. “If we finish the first half well, I would like to actively experiment with new players.”
Indeed, Klinsmann made several changes against Vietnam. He started Cho Hyun-woo, who hadn’t been given a chance, and used all six of his substitute cards to experiment with different combinations. Kim Joo-sung, a 2000-born defender, also came off the bench to make his first appearance for Klinsmann.
The opponent is also an underdog, Singapore. Of course, we shouldn’t let our guard down, but with a two-ranked Singapore side at home, we might opt to make some changes to the roster, except for the big bones. They could try new faces in place of the out-of-form players, or test players who have been away from the national team, such as Park Ji-soo (Wuhan) and Kim Moon-hwan (Alduhail).

Meanwhile, Klinsmann made a final check by watching the FA Cup final between the Pohang Steelers and Jeonbuk Hyundai on April 4. Baek Seung-ho, Park Jin-seop (Jeonbuk), and Ko Young-joon (Pohang), who played in the match, caught Klinsmann’s eye and it will be interesting to see if they can make a connection with the national team.
